Post 5: Changes to My Study Programme

My name is Bruno Lobo and I’m studying Chemistry and Pharmacy. Honestly there are a lot of things that come to mind when I think about my career. Now that I’m in my fourth year of University, I can take a bigger glance at our education plan and get a better understanding of the subjects taught. Hence, if I could be in charge and make some arrangements, I would definitely add some specialization in the latter years. The career offers a lot of labor fields, since Chemistry is a very diverse discipline. So, having a more specific expertise that students can feel at ease with would be quite helpful. I.e, If one dedicates to research, physics related subjects would be the key to carry out any regular investigation. While on the other hand, aspiring to work at a drugstore, wouldn’t need such focus, but education related to marketing and merchandising to meet the current bussiness’s expectations. That’s why encouraging specialties at the ending semesters would be relevant to forming “next-level” professionals (A similar approach to how Engineering Faculties structure their curriculums).

Respecting infrastructure, in comparison with other educational establishments our university lacks a lot of services and infrastructural spaces that can hold an active, diverse and interpersonal atmosphere for the members of our Faculty. For example, a GYM, that can support a healthy lifestyle, sharpen the community’s bonds and, overall, just work as a distraction and social point for our classmates.
