Post 6: My Pets

Image
In this post I’d like to talk about my beloved friend for 7 years now, Milo. Milo is a white stray dog, which we suspect is a mix between a poodle and a maltese dog. I’d say he is, expressive and charming. Visitors always have a hard time because of its high energy and intense neediness.        I met him 7 years ago one night, coming back home with my family. So you get an idea, this was in Estacion Central, where stray puppies are a normal thing. We were just walking down the street, when 2 dogs approached us. A tiny white dog and a huge black wolf-like dog. The white one was fleeing from the black dog and in an intent to evade it, he hid behind my brother’s legs and started barking. As we finally helped him scare the big dog, he followed us to the bus stop and it was right there when he melted our hearts, so we finally decided to bring him home and make him part of the family.      Currently, Milo is not a si...

Post 5: Changes to My Study Programme

Image
My name is Bruno Lobo and I’m studying Chemistry and Pharmacy. Honestly there are a lot of things that come to mind when I think about my career. Now that I’m in my fourth year of University, I can take a bigger glance at our education plan and get a better understanding of the subjects taught. Hence, if I could be in charge and make some arrangements, I would definitely add some specialization in the latter years. The career offers a lot of labor fields, since Chemistry is a very diverse discipline. So, having a more specific expertise that students can feel at ease with would be quite helpful. I.e, If one dedicates to research, physics related subjects would be the key to carry out any regular investigation. While on the other hand, aspiring to work at a drugstore, wouldn’t need such focus, but education related to marketing and merchandising to meet the current bussiness’s expectations. That’s why encouraging specialties at the ending semesters w...

Post 4: Time Travel to the Past or Future

Image
I've always been flabbergasted with tech and since some time now, I've wondered how far technology and inventions could go one day... As virtual reality, AI's and automatic robots are pretty normal now, I can just think of amazing inventions in the near future to come. Having that in mind, my main goal is to reach Japan in about 50 years from now. Japan is the number one country when it comes to technology, so I'm sure that if there is some revolutionary tech in the future it'll be in a city like Tokyo or Osaka.      There is just so much to think about. Will humanity be enslaved by robots? Will human labor be replaced by machines, or is a Wall-e like scenario more certain? Will it be a prosperous and peaceful time? Will there still be English homework? Due to science development will we live longer and healthier lives? Or even humans will go extinct by the robots or a technologic war, who knows?!. The future is beyond our comprehension and most defin...

Post 3: My Future Job

Image
This particular topic complicates me a bit, because I'm not attracted to the idea of working long hours from Monday to Friday, so I would prefer a job that is flexible with the schedule and allows me time to develop skills and activities that I enjoy outside of the work environment.       Regarding physical space, I would not like to work in a small space, less in an office, and ideally, I would not like to have to go to the physical premises of the workplace in person.        Well, I am currently studying chemistry and pharmacy, and I would like to work in something related to that. Logically, the world of work is a process, and I am aware that over the years, I will have to work in the most basic of areas, and that I will develop over time, therefore, my ultimate long-time goal is to be the owner of my own chain of pharmacies called "wolfarmacy" (name subject to change).        In connection with this fut...

Post 2: The Best Concert

Image
This memory happened many years ago, in 2014 to be exact. At that time I was 14 years old, and with my brother we listened a band called "Sonata Arctica", which is a Finnish sinfonic metal band, formed in 1996, and is conformed by five members. Currently this band has released more or less 14 albums, being the most recent one this year.      Well, back to the story, I remember one day (I don't remember the exact date) my brother gave me the news... Sonata Arctica would give a concert in Santiago!!!!... and he asked me if I wanted to go with him to see them, and of course my answer was a big YES!!!! so he brougth the tickets and we get prepared for the day.       When the date arrived, I was little nervous, since that concert was the first one I was going to in my life, so I didn't know what to expect of it. The first thing I thought when we arrived was that the concert venue was a kind of small (it was in the Cariola theater), but t...

Post 1: A Country I would Like to Visit

Image
England        I would like visit to many countries, but the first in my list is England, being more specific London, because I like how the landscape and arquitecture looks in the movies and series I've seen.        Currently, England is the largest country of United Kingdom, and has the 84% of the population (56,3 millions). It also has a lot of iconic tourist places, like the big clock tower, the Big Ben, or the differents museums that you can find there. In addition, England is home of many bands that I like and are populars all over world, like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Gorillaz and the legendary Queen.       England is a country that I like because whenever I saw epis...
